Privacy policy.

Last updated: 31 July 2026

IXLEAN is an AI coaching service. Your training data is sensitive, and we treat it that way. This page explains what we collect, why, where it lives, who processes it, and how to get rid of it.

What we collect

Account data: your email address, name (if you give one), chosen coach, and goal.

Training data: the workouts you log in the app — type, date, duration, distance and derived stats like pace, weekly volume, and training-load trends. Every record keeps its origin (where and how it was created), so you always know where your data came from.

Trainer profile and plan: what you tell your coach in the intake conversation — age, body weight, goal weight, training experience, available days, gym access, travel and schedule notes, motivation, and any lifestyle goals you choose to share — plus the weekly training plan your coach builds with you and which exercises you complete. Your diet type and any food allergies or intolerances you tell your coach are always used for food safety, so it never suggests something unsafe. If you turn on nutrition coaching, we also process the meals you describe. You only share what you want; every field is optional, and meal tracking is off until you opt in.

Conversations: your chat history with your coach, plus facts the coach remembers about you (goals, injuries, preferences) so it can coach you over time.

Membership and Stretch data: subscription and access status, the videos and programs you save, playback progress, completed sessions, and related service emails. IXLEAN's video platform, AutoCreator, stores this as the canonical membership record and supplies it to the IXLEAN app.

Photos you send your coach: if you photograph a machine to log a set, the picture is sent to our AI provider to identify the exercise and is then discarded. We never store it, and it is not kept in your chat history — only the exercise and numbers are saved. Please avoid including other people in the frame.

Cookies: only essential ones — your login session and short-lived security tokens. No advertising or analytics cookies.

Health and fitness data

Workouts, heart-rate values you enter, and injuries you mention in chat are health-related data. We process them for one purpose only — coaching you — and only after you give explicit consent on a dedicated screen when you first enter the app. You can withdraw that consent at any time in Settings, which pauses all AI processing. We treat this data as sensitive: it is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared beyond the processors listed below.

How we use it — and the AI provider

One purpose: coaching you. Your logged workouts, messages, and coach memories are sent to a third-party AI provider to generate your coach's replies, briefings, weekly recaps, and share captions. Under the provider's published API terms, this data is not used to train their models and is retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deleted. Our current provider processes data in the USA. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising. You are always talking to an AI, not a human.

Where it lives — processors

Account, coaching and membership databases: Supabase (Postgres), hosted in Stockholm, Sweden (EU). Membership and video-library services: AutoCreator, operated by IXLEAN. Video storage and delivery: Bunny.net (global delivery network). Payments: Stripe. App hosting: Vercel (USA/global edge). AI processing: a third-party provider (currently in the USA). Email delivery: Resend (USA). Where a provider processes data outside the EEA, the transfer relies on the safeguards in that provider's data-processing terms (EU standard contractual clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework). We keep service data while your account or membership is active, then delete or anonymise it on request unless tax, payment, fraud-prevention or other legal obligations require a limited record to be retained longer.

Strava

IXLEAN no longer integrates with Strava. The integration and the "Roast my run" tool were removed in July 2026, and all previously synced Strava data — activities, tokens, and derived records — has been permanently deleted from our systems.

Deleting your data

Contact privacy@ixlean.com to close your account or request erasure. We coordinate the IXLEAN coaching data, AutoCreator membership and Stretch activity together so a paid subscription is not left behind without a login. Cancellation does not itself erase legally required payment records. You can first download the account and Stretch data available through Settings as JSON; contact us if you need a complete access request covering retained records as well.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data at any time, and you can withdraw AI consent and optional coaching emails in Settings. For cancellation, closure or a complete rights request, email privacy@ixlean.com. You can also lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority (in Norway: Datatilsynet).

Age

IXLEAN is intended for users aged 16 and over.

Not medical advice

Your AI coach is not a doctor, physiotherapist, or therapist. It will tell you the same thing. See a professional for medical concerns.
